AJ - as always, you write with elegance and grace and bring insight into our lives! Thank you! We need to get you back on the Behavioral Grooves podcast to talk about the lessons you learned from this!
Don't know how I missed the year of living constitutionally...
I've read everything since the year of living biblically (I thought)...
I also write letters and occasionally with a calligraphy pen. I picked up several Maccaw feathers I intend to attempt Quill writing with - just haven't gotten there yet.
I always pick up a new perspective (and often a new habit) whenever I read your latest book. Looking forward to what I will gain from your Substack.
I learned to write using a fountain pen, and of late I've returned to it. My old 1950's Schaeffer was replaced under warranty, but now gave up.
I've replaced it with a solid brass Scriveiner... such a beautiful instrument. Makes me look for a reason to write... and I'll confess, to show off a little bit too. So fun to hand it over to someone when they ask to borrow your pen... then watch their reaction. No scratchy here. Sooo smooth.
A.J.: No need to say you're not a Luddite! There's nothing wrong with it (and they weren't anti-tech, they just wanted it used correctly and fairly).
Second, I have a book you and your readers might be interested in, a collection of essays on analog/retro tools, the world before social media, algorithms, and AI:
Do you think a West Coast book tour would ever be a possibility? I love reading your books, FB posts, and now this Substack, and it would be a thrill if you ever came to one of our indie bookstores here in Seattle, WA.

Thanks Jim! Hope you like it. I've been thinking of dabbling in fountain pens instead of quills.

Suddenly so appreciative of my socks and the fact they're not falling down. Such wonders of the modern age.

AJ, one result of the carnivore diet has been a 99% reduction of flatulence! Works for me.
Thanks AJ, I like the new newsletter. The photo at the end added to the charm. Ann
Thank ye so much Ann

I love Seattle! I don't have immediate plans, but this gives me inspiration to try to figure something out
"I don't believe we all have to return to writing with a quill." Thank goodness for that :D
Wasn't sure after reading about your radical honesty experiment yesterday whether your substack would be for me, but really enjoying this. Honestly!
Ha! Thank you Wendy. Appreciate your radical honesty and glad you're enjoying this.
